After seeing colored shells for iPhone 5C appearing here and there, we still haven’t managed to learn if there’s anything new under the hood of the low cost iPhone. However, SimOnlyRadar, claims to have received exclusive information about the hardware specifications of the device.
According to their sources the iPhone 5C will include Siri voice assistant in eight languages – English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian and Spanish.
The other specifications of iPhone 5C seem more or less identical to the current iPhone 5. What will be under the hood? We’re likely to see a dual-core processor (clock speed and exact SoC unknown) that breaths life into the plastic iPhone. The device will feature a 4.0 inch display with 1136 by 640 resolution, 1 GB RAM, 8.0 megapixel rear camera, 1.2 megapixel secondary camera on the front for video chat (aka FaceTime).
The device allegedly weighs 3.74 oz (106 grams) and measures 4.89 x 2.30 x 0.30 inches (124.2 x 58.4 x 7.6 mm) in dimensions. The device will be ready to be shipped in 16/32/64 GB storage capacity with latest mobile operating system iOS 7.0 installed.
iPhone 5C Specifications
The sources further added that the device is slightly larger and narrower than the iPhone 5, but is hard to pinpoint the differences. The thickness is same as iPhone 5, and the weight of the iPhone 5C has been reduced by 6 grams (of course because of plastic shell).
The 16GB version of iPhone 5C is expected to retail for $400 and the release is set for the end of September. Details are thin whether iPhone 5C will come unlocked or users will be asked to sign 2-year contract with their carrier.
Even though the specifications look like they’re official, we haven’t yet been able to confirm their authenticity, so take everything you see here with a grain of salt – at least for now.
Apple is expected to lift the curtain on its latest iPhone models on Sept. 10. Stay tuned!
